We believe that true “green” energy solutions do not involve destroying farmlands, forests, wildlife habitat,  families, and homes. 

NextEra Energy is planning a large industrial scale solar project in our neighborhood (Center Point, Toddville, Palo etc). They are wanting to obtain leases to use 3500 acres of land in this area to put up massive solar panels as far as one can see.

This will destroy farmland and it will destroy neighborhoods. These belong in areas that are for commercial or industrial development not where you live and raise families and not where prime land is located for growing crops.

The large solar panels will negatively impact the environment, our wildlife, our watershed, and our property values. And, it is not likely that there will be any local benefit via reduced electric rates. It will take outreach by all impacted to get the attention of those that can put a stop to this.

Here are some ways to advocate for stopping the large solar project so it doesn’t ruin our quiet rural living:
